Das Garmin Edge Software Update Juni ist etwas mehr als eine gewöhnliche Zusammenfassung der Software Veränderungen der kleinen Trainingsbegleiter. Mit Physio TrueUp und Smart Notifications pimpt Garmin die Edge Software in diesem Monat richtig gut auf.
Im heutigen Artikel über die Garmin Edge Software Updates fassen wir Verbesserungen für die Geräte Garmin Edge 1030, 820 und den neuen 520 Plus zusammen. Für den Garmin Edge 820 zeigen wir dir sogar die Veränderungen der Software 9.0 und 9.1.
Das Garmin Edge 1030 Software Update 5.00 verbindet die Garmin Edge Software mit Physio TrueUp, einen neuen Drittanbieter zur Datenauswertung. Außerdem werden in der Software Version einige Fehler behoben. In den Updates der 820er und 520er Serie bekommen Smart Notifications eine große Rolle.

Garmin Edge 1030 Software Update 5.00

Physio TrueUp stellt eine sinnvolle Ergänzung dar. Wer kennt das Problem nicht, dass diverse eigene Garmin Geräte unterschiedliche Fitnesszustände anzeigen? Der Forerunner weiß nichts von den Daten des Edges und umgekehrt.
Professionell wäre das Hinzuziehen des Vitalmonitors, aber Physio TrueUp ist ein Schritt in die richtige Richtung mit dem Ziel die Garmin Geräte bezgl. Leistungs- und Erholungsdaten zu synchronisieren. NAch wie vor gibt es aber keine Möglichkeiten seine „Best of“ zu synchronisieren, so wird jede erste Radfahrt am neuen Garmin Edge eine „Längste Radfahrt“, egal wie kurz die Testfahrt ist.
Verbesserungen im Bereich BLE, Funkkonstanz, Abstürze und gehören zu jedem Update dazu. Interessant finde ich die Möglichkeit jetzt auch am Garmin Edge 1030 Nachrichten vom Facebook Messanger und Google zu erhalten.

Garmin Edge 1030 Changes made from version 4.00 to 5.00:

  • Added Physio TrueUp support. Physio TrueUp syncs activities done on other Garmin devices, allowing your device to more accurately reflect your training status and fitness. Activities from other devices will appear in the History menu. Your Training Status, Training Load, and VO2 Max will be updated using activities from your other devices, and your Recovery ein Bekanntere will be also updated using data from other devices supporting Physio TrueUp. Enable Physio TrueUp in Device Settings on Garmin Connect or Garmin Connect Mobile.
  • Improved BLE stability which addresses issues with LiveTrack and BLE sensor data freezing.
  • Fixed issue with 2018.10 maps where turn prompts may be missed during navigation.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause software updates to clear the list of paired sensors.
  • Fixed a crash when racing a rival effort on a segment with a long name.
  • Improved text message notifications by removing the requirement for Garmin Connect Mobile to have Android SMS and Contacts permissions.
  • Added support for receiving and replying to texts from other providers (e.g. Facebook, Google Hangouts).
  • Fixed crash when using audio prompts.
  • Fixed incorrect sharp bend warnings when riding on a course.
  • Fixed misaligned text when performing an address search.
  • Fixed issue causing saved locations to be deleted from memory.

    Garmin Edge 820 Software Update 9.10 und 9.00

    Gleich zwei Updates haben wir für den Garmin Edge 820, dessen aktuelle Software Version 9.1 ein Beta Feature sowie zahlreiche Smart Notifications mit sich bringt.
    Der neue Extended Display Mode ist besonders für Duathlon und Triathlon interessant, denn der Garmin Edge 820 greift auf die Daten einer Multisport Uhr ab und überträgt sie aufs Display. Soweit ich das recherchiert habe, sowohl die LAP als auch Gesamtzeit der Einheit. Inwiefern auch Leistungsdaten (Strecke, Geschwindigkeit und Puls) übertragen werden, konnte ich nicht herausfinden.
    Android User dürfen sich über zahlreiche Smart Notifications freuen, außerdem werden z.Bsp. verpasste Anrufe nach einer gewissen Zeit jetzt automatisch ausgeblendet. Gerade in harten Intervallen nervt es mich doch sehr, wenn der verpasste Anruf mir mein wichtiges Datenfeld überblendet.
    Bereits mit dem Update 9.0 kamen neue Datenfeld Layouts, neue Mitteilungen von LiveTrack und die Segment Seite wurde überarbeitet.

    Garmin Edge 820 changes made from version 9.00 to 9.10:

  • New Beta Feature: Extended Display Mode. Menu > Settings > Extended Display Mode will allow the Edge device to act as an extended view of a supported Garmin multisport watch’s data fields during a multi-stage activity such as a triathlon. Follow the on-screen Edge and multisport instructions to get started.
  • Smart Notifications: [Android Only] Notifications from additional text-based sources like Google Hangouts will now be shown on device. Responding to these should properly send through the expected application.
  • Smart Notifications: Notifications that seemed stale or otherwise are not currently being displayed on the phone should no longer be shown on device.
  • Smart Notifications: Notifications from text and phone sources will be automatically dismissed when no longer relevant.
  • Turn Guidance: Fixed issue where turn prompts would not be displayed consistently while using 2018.10 maps.
  • Fixed issue where Virtual Partner time ahead/behind was incorrect when auto-pause is enabled.
  • Fixed issue where turn prompts would not clear until Varia Radar had no remaining active targets.
  • Fixed issue where device will not power down properly.
  • Fixed potential crash when riding a segment against a someone with a very long name.
  • Fixed issues where saved networks would disappear after a Garmin Express sync
  • Fixed discrepancy between wind displayed on the status par weather preview and the full weather page.
  • Added additional information to the Copyright Information page.
  • Fixed incorrect truncation of course points names on the course point list page and on the map.
  • Fixed issue where a turn prompt and a course point prompt for the same turn would pop up at the same time while riding a course.

    • Garmin Edge 820 changes made from version 8.80 to 9.00:

  • Updated phone connection architecture to add support for new features. This will require a one-time removal of the Edge and for it to be re-paired in Garmin Connect Mobile version 4.5 or newer.
  • Added the new Get Assistance feature. Hold the power key for 4 seconds to send your location to emergency contacts.
  • Added popularity routing for improved navigation and course creation.
  • Updated the segment page UI.
  • Added alternative data screen layouts.
  • Added LiveTrack messaging.
  • Added text replies (Android only).
  • Added CIQ 2.4.4 support.
  • Fixed crash when paired to Vector 3 for 20 minutes.
  • Fixed crash when selecting Race an Activity.
  • Fixed freeze when Varia Radar detects a car at the same time the Battery Save Mode countdown starts.
  • Fixed issue where battery save mode would turn on GPS in the Indoor activity profile.

    Garmin Edge 520 Plus Software Update 2.60

    Erstmals haben wir auch das Software Update für den neuen Garmin Edge 520 Plus. Wie der Edge 820 bekommt der Edge 520 Plus ebenfalls den neuen Extended Display Mode, so dass Daten von einer Multisport fähigen Garmin Uhr auf den Edge 520 Plus dargestellt werden. Für Triathleten oder Duathleten bestimmt eine tolle Erweiterung.
    Darüberhinaus sind beim Edge 520 Plus für Android User auch die erweiterte Smart Notifications abrufbar, so dass du u.a. auch FB Messanger Nachrichten erhalten kannst.
    Zahlreiche Bugfixes und Fehlerbehebungen gehören gerade am Anfang eines neuen Geräts dazu. U.a. wurde ein Fehler im Virtual Partner bei der Auto Pause behoben, auch wenn der Virtual Partner bereits seit dem Garmin Edge 305 Bestandteil der Software ist. 😀

    Garmin Edge 520 Plus changes made from version 2.50 to 2.60:

  • New Beta Feature: Extended Display Mode.
